Trials FAQ

At Trials is it skills or match play?
At trials athletes will be selected based on their performance at the training sessions and the final selections. This will be a selection of both

What time do we arrive?
Upon registration you will be sent a confirmation email with all the details you need. We ask that you arrive 15 – 20 prior to sessions beginning to complete health checks (nails short, hair tied back, any strapping support to be in place, ready to play)

What do we wear?
All the details will be on your trial email. You will be asked to wear a plain white top, black shorts/ skirt/ ¾ leggings. Please bring outdoor wear if your trials outside. Please come ready to train.

What court time will I get?
Depending on the number of athletes registering you will all play enough games so that selectors can see you more than once.

When will I know whether I have been successful in having a final trial?
Within 48 hours after your final session taking place.

Do I need to apply if I am injured?
Yes, you need to apply even if injured

Spectators
Due to current circumstance and the number of athletes coming and going, spectators will not be allowed. Parents will be asked to drop off. Sign their child in and then leave.

What happens if I miss the closing date for trials?
Unfortunately, you will not be accepted for a trial. As we have many applicants and given the current guidelines, we cannot accept athletes on the day. The registration process will be open for at least xxx weeks. Our advice will be to go back to your club or school where there might be other opportunities later in the year.

What happens if I arrive and I and not on the list?
When you sign up and pay for the sessions, you will receive a confirmation payment email. If you cannot provide the document, you will be unable to trial. If you do not receive this document within a short time of applying, you need to email netballwarwickshire@gmail.com

If sessions have to be cancelled will I get a refund?
If official government advice dictates that due to an increase in social distancing restrictions any trials cannot take place, they will be subsequently cancelled, and participants will be informed via email. All participants will be eligible for relevant refund.

What guidelines will Warwickshire be following to ensure the safety of participants? We will follow and adhere closely government guidelines and advice from England Netballs return to train guidelines. We have appointed a Covid Officer who is keeping up to date with any training, forums and guidelines that England Netball are providing.
